Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara

Considering that I am always on the look for the next magic mascara that is going to transform my lashes in Bambi style, I couldn't resist a second when I  heard that Maybelline had launched a new "Illegal" mascara that promised to add 4mm to my lashes. Available in washable and waterproof, I bought the first as I hate having to fight with my mascara at the end of the day to remove it. The brush has stiff widely dispersed bristles that come out in different angles. The bristles help to capture and separate the lashes, while pulling the mascara and fibers through the brush to give your lashes lenght. In the picture above you can actually see the fibers on the bristles. The product does a good job at lenghtening  (not sure exactly 4mm...) but visible and appreciable results. What  I am not sure about is the "skinny" lashes I am left with. I think  I enjoy more a good volumizing mascara although for a drugstore product I have to admit that it is pretty good. So overall very good but not exactly my HG. Available from Boots at £8.99.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow are fairly new creamy eyeshadows that have been been launched for Spring 2012 in many countries, causing a real frenzy among bloggers with many shades selling out in most drugstores.
Unfortunately (for us) in Europe, Maybelline has only lauched a limited number of the ten shades available in the States and, having had a look on ebay, I feel we are missing out on some very nice ones (Pomegranate Punk I am looking at you!).
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr is very similar to the Mac Paint Pot ,  it comes in a transparent thick glass jar with a screw on black lid. Always remember to keep the lid on when applying it or the eyeshadow will dry in no time!
Let's come to the formula: Color Tatto is a solid cream eyeshadow that melts in contact with the skin, leaving a very thin layer similar to a tattoo. As for the Mac Paint Pot, you can use this product on its own or as an eyeshadow base. Permanent Taupe (in the pictures) is a somewhat brown grey taupe colour and it dries to a matte finish. It doesn't really look like an exciting colour in the jar but I really like it for my nude look days. Personally I also use this shade to fill in my eyebrows, in place or before applying brow powder as it works as a brow wax. I apply it with a Mac brush as I find it easier to blend it before it dries (be quick!!).
The formula is very long lasting, not sure about the 24 hrs claim but definetely lasted all day on my lids without creasing at all.
Available in the UK from Superdrug, Boots and supermarkets at £4.99 (bargain compared to the Mac Paint Pots!!)
